Press release: The International Intermodal Logistic Centre “Navoi”.
In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the International Intermodal Logistic Centre based on Navoi International Airport was created by Uzbekistan Airways in cooperation with Korean Air. The International Intermodal Logistic Centre is one of the biggest and technology advanced air cargo hub of the region. The Navoi International Airport is a cross-point of land and air transportation corridors letting the clients to enjoy the wide range of destinations.
Today, Navoi air hub is connected with the main logistics centers of Eurasia, including Incheon, Milan, Brussels, Vienna, Istanbul, Dubai, Delhi, Tientsin, Bishkek, Dacca, Moscow and Saint-Petersburg.
As a forwarding unit of the logistic chain, the cargo terminal at the Navoi International Airport is capable to cover the entire range of services for acceptance of cargo, temporary storage and forwarding by different modes of transportation. Availability of direct connection with railway and highway networks, as well as access roads and parking areas for heavy trucks, facilitates to the reduction of time and efforts on the interim delivery of cargo, owing to usage of global-level technologies.
The cargo operation at the territory of the Cargo Terminal is carried out 24/7. The customs formalities for export/import cargo are in full compliance with the current customs legislation. All this allows successfully operate within the system of the international cargo traffic cooperation.
The package of services includes:
- Handling of all types of cargo;
- Warehousing of general and special cargo;
- Transit of cargo via the Navoi International Airport;
- Information service.
The total area of the Terminal is 16 000 square meters.
The storage facilities are equipped with:
- Cool room and Freezing room to store perishables;
- Warm room;
- Valuable cargo room;
- Quarantine room for live animals where the veterinary personnel work 24 hours a day.
The Cargo Terminal has a special zone to store dangerous goods of all classes and categories.
At the moment, the road haulage is carried out between the Navoi Cargo Terminal and “Tashkent” airport. There is a bounded warehouse at the cargo terminal of the “Navoi” airport.
